Homemade Powdered Laundry Detergent

Homemade powdered laundry detergent is often viewed as superior because of its affordability, environmental benefits by minimizing plastic waste, and the option to tailor ingredients for sensitive skin or particular fragrance preferences. You have the power to decide what goes into your detergent, steering clear of harsh chemicals, synthetic scents, and brighteners commonly found in many store-bought products. This provides a more natural, customized, and potentially healthier choice for your home.

You can save money by creating your own powder detergent as the basic ingredients such as washing soda, baking soda and bar soap are affordable and cost less per load compared to many commercial detergents

What you will need -

3 cups of Borax,

2 1/2 cups of Washing Soda

1 1/2 cups of Baking Soda

1 bar of pure Castile bar soap ( I like to use peppermint that way I will not use essential oils)

How to Make -

Grate your Castile soap bar into fine pieces.

Next, in a well-ventilated area or perhaps even outside, combine all the ingredients in a large container,

Store it in an airtight container and use 2-4 tablespoons for each load.
