My Garden Dairy 2026

March 2026

Cultivating a garden can enhance mental health by alleviating stress and promoting mental well-being through therapeutic, mindful engagement. I find this incredibly beneficial. Being someone who prefers winter over summer, it’s refreshing for me to get outdoors and partake in something productive.

I typically begin in late winter or early spring by tidying up my gardening area. I always have an abundance of leaves to gather. I enjoy spreading fresh mulch along the pathways. Additionally, I will organize my black berry bush by tying it back. Since I have a raised bed garden, I'll fill the beds with dried leaves, compost, and raised bed soil.

This year, I'm planning to modify my footpath. I believe it would look more appealing with individual footprints rather than a single long path. Additionally, I need to attend to my strawberry patch because the soil level has become too low. Therefore, I'll have to remove all the plants, add soil and compost, and then replant all my strawberry plants. This project will certainly take all day on its own.

July 2026

This has to be one of the driest year I have ever had. We did not have a lot of snow this past winter but I did not think that winter would have such an affect on my plants this summer.

I lost 2 trees and 2 saplings in my backyard. I lost almost all of my strawberry plants in the garden. I was lucky with my raspberries and black berries bushes, they did come back.

Because we are in a super drought we can only water 2 twice a week and because And then there is my grass, my backyard is just about all
